Biography of William Moorcroft, surgeon & explorer. He became the first qualified vet to set up practice in England, and in 1808 accepted the post of superintendent of the East India Company's Bengal stud. Without permission he crossed the Himalayas by a route unknown to Europeans, to western Tibet. Another journey, of 2000 miles took him 6 years. 1985
